The History of Psoriasis Treatments

This chart illustrates the different types of therapy used for treatment of psoriasis, ranging from coal tar (a carcinogen), to UV radiation (a carcinogen), to methotrexate (an antimetabolite used in cancer therapy), to cyclosporine and other immune system suppressants used to prevent transplant rejection, to synthetic vitamins (retinoids derived from vitamin A such as etretinate or its metabolite, acretin, as well as, tazarotene, or vitamin D analogues such as calcipotriene), to genetically engineered monoclonal antibodies that depress the immune system. Our product may not look high tech - but, it works!
